Drummond Hill Cemetery Tours

The City of Niagara Falls History Museum is excited to once again offer walking tours this October of Drummond Hill Cemetery, one of Canada’s most historic cemeteries. Tours are scheduled for Thursday October 16 and Thursday October 23, 2021 at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets sell for $12 per person, and go on sale September 13, 2021. Tickets must be purchased by credit card payment in advance over the phone (905-358-5082), or in person at the Niagara Falls History Museum (5810 Ferry Street).

Led by a costumed guide, the human drama unfolds as guests wander the grounds and happen upon theatrical performances that provide a glimpse into the lives of some of the people from our City’s history. From Laura Secord to Thomas Barnett, meet the famous and the little-known alike at Drummond Hill this autumn season. Based on journal entries kept by cemetery sexton William Dalton, get a glimpse into the lives–and deaths–of Niagara’s famous and not-so-famous historical figures. Watch as they talk about their worries and joys, giving a snapshot of the past through historical interpretation.

Tours depart from the Cemetery gates located on Buchner Place off Drummond Road on the schedule dates.  As a rain or shine event, participants are encouraged to dress according to the weather conditions and hilly terrain. Recommended for ages 14+, as some content may not be suitable for younger audiences. With safety as our priority, masks and physical distancing will be enforced on site and during the tours.
