Laugh Out Loud Comedy Festival

On Friday, October 6th enjoy laugh out lough comedy with Host & Emcee, Mark Matthews, Ben Miner and Headliner, Johnny Gardhouse. For over two decades, Gardhouse has been wowing audiences with his unique blend of current event and storytelling comedy. Never at a loss for words, he has brought the ha-ha to people around the world, including the Middle East, where he performed for Canadian and Coalition Forces. “Hey, he kinda looks familiar?” Well that’s because Johnny can be seen in countless television commercials, that air across North America. From his turn as theCash for Life postman, to the boomerang ducking guy in the Sensodine Toothpaste ad, he has been invading your living room via the TV for more than 15 years.

Ben Miner has been a stand-up comic for over half his life. He’s toured coast to coast, having made stops at just about every club in Canada as well as festivals such as Just for Laughs in Montreal, JFL Northwest, Fest and NXNE in Toronto. When he’s not on-stage, Ben is still behind a mic as the host of Comic Stripped on SiriusXM’s Canada Laughs with guests such as Cheech & Chong, The Family Guy cast, Eugene Levy, and many more! Ben is also the host of SiriusXM’s Top Comic – the country’s most prestigious comedy competition! Lastly, if Ben looks familiar to you then you probably watched him on the first season of Masterchef Canada where he made the Top 16.

Niagara’s own Mark Matthews has worked throughout North America, and opened for Jerry Seinfeld, Gilbert Gottfried, and Jimmy "JJ" Walker to name a few. He has also appeared on CBC’s Comics playing the simple-minded brother of comedian Jeremy Hotz, and starred in the award-winning Kiss of Death (a short film made for an international film competition that won the Best Cinematography Award and brought Niagara talent to the world through film).

Tickets are $20 (ALL IN). Show starts at 8:30pm, includes a 15-minute intermission, and ends by 10:25pm.

Partial proceeds of each LOL Comedy Series Show will be donated to the Komedy for Kidneys Rodney Pentland Memorial Benefit Show; the charity event was started in 2007 and renamed in memory of comedian, Rodney Pentland, who passed away in 2009 from complications related to kidney disease. To date, Komedy for Kidneys has raised nearly $61,000 in support of Dialysis Care in Niagara.
